On Saturday, May 24, 2025, Africa Vuka Day was celebrated with a major event organized by the Association of Development Actors (ADEV) and other partner organizations. This celebration aimed to raise awareness about issues related to climate change, promote environmental protection, and highlight the richness of African cultures. It was, therefore, an important initiative in mobilizing citizens in support of environmental protection and climate justice.
Africa Vuka Day, also known as Africa Day, provides an opportunity to celebrate African diversity and achievements by highlighting the continent’s cultural and economic potential. Beyond celebrating African cultures and wealth, this event raised public awareness while advancing clear demands for accountability, transparency, inclusivity, and climate justice.
This celebration, held as part of Africa Day, provided a strategic opportunity to strengthen unity and raise awareness about contemporary climate challenges. This initiative is therefore fully aligned with the Center’s vision, which is to serve as a driving force for innovation, knowledge, and action toward sustainable development in Africa, and particularly in Cameroon. Indeed, protecting the environment requires not only greater awareness but also the generation of knowledge, the analysis of social realities, and the implementation of concrete actions tailored to the needs of communities.
Thank you very much, ADEV, for allowing us to participate.
